The major equipment side firms are also very active since in the early 70s. One hundred foreign companies are installed today. Their production of parts and components supply essentially the local manufacturers (integrated sector) and is partly exported to Europe West, especially to manufacturers of power plants, France, Germany and Italy making up nearly half of Turkish exports of components.
